right and wrong

Closest related principles - Core Interrelations

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of [by] God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of [from] the Father, cometh unto me. Jh 6:45 (Click gold Scripture references for Principle Interrelations)

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine [teaching] is not mine [own WU], but his that sent me. If any man will do his [God's WU] will, he shall know of the doctrine [about my teaching], whether it be of [from] God, or whether I speak of myself [on my own WU]. Jh 7:16-17

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified [set apart WU], and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do [them], though ye believe not me, believe the works [miracles WU]: that ye may know, and believe [understand WU], that the Father is in me, and I in him. Therefore they sought again to take [seize] him: but he escaped out of their hand, and went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode [stayed]. And many resorted [came] unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true. And many believed on [in] him there. Jh 10:34-42 (and all over the first 10 chapters) You can tell Jesus came from God because, if you have been trying to live God’s principles yourself (like those who had repented as a result of John the Baptist's preaching), you know that Jesus does what God does. You know what to look for.

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause [reason] came I into the world, that I should bear witness [testify] unto the truth. Every one that is of the [on the side of WU] truth heareth my voice [listens to me WU]. Jh 18:37

And this is the condemnation [judgement], that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither [and doesn't] cometh [in]to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved [exposed]. But he that doeth [lives by the WU] truth cometh [in]to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest [revealed], that they are wrought in [done through WU] God. Jh 3:19-21

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single [sound], thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! Mat 6:22-23 Your distinguishing of right and wrong, perception, capability to understand reality (the truth), bears on whether you have the potential to live in the light.

But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have [desire] mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. Mat 12:7

humility

Closest related principles - Core Interrelations

At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily [most assuredly] I say unto you, Except [unless] ye be converted [change WU], and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Mat 18:1-4

Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: And the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer [allow the] little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence [from there]. Mat 19:13-15 Children accept authority and direction, and acknowledge someone greater than themselves.

Then Jesus went thence [from there], and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil [demon]. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet [appropriate] to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt [desire]. And her daughter was made whole [healed] from that very hour. Mat 15:21-28 Humility helps in asking the Lord for help.

And he [Jesus WU] spake this parable unto certain [people] which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised [looked down on WU] others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican [tax collector]. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners [robbers WU], unjust [unrighteous], adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes [a tenth WU] of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off [at a distance WU], would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote [beat] upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased [humbled]; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Lk 18:9-14

When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, Lk 5:8 After Jesus had provided a miraculous catch of fish.

Ask for mercy:

And when Jesus departed thence [from there], two blind men followed him, crying [out], and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. Mat 9:27

And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil [demon]. Mat 15:22

Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick [epileptic], and sore vexed [suffers grievously]: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. Mat 17:15

And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side [road], when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. MT 20:30 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should [wanted them to WU] hold their peace [be quiet]: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. Mat 20:30-31

And one of the malefactors [criminals] which were hanged [there WU] railed on [insulted] him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in [under] the same [sentence of WU] condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss [wrong]. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily [assuredly] I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Lk 23:39-43 The man feared God, saw his own sin, the harm he had done, and asked Jesus not to forget him.

forcefulness

Closest related principles - Core Interrelations

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence [has forcefully advanced WU], and the violent [forceful men WU] take it by force. Mat 11:12

The law and the prophets were [proclaimed WU] until John: since that time [the good news of WU] the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth [is forcing his way] into it. Lk 16:16

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. MK 10:47 And many charged him that he should hold his peace [be quiet]: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. Mk 10:47-48

give up what you have

Closest related principles - Core Interrelations

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price [value WU], went and sold all that he had, and bought it. Mat 13:44-46 Give up your ungodly ways, and self-indulgent excesses.

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren [brothers], and sisters, yea [yes], and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth [does] not bear his cross, and come after [follow WU] me, cannot be my disciple. Lk 14:26-27

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath [has], he cannot be my disciple. Lk 14:33 So count the cost of following Jesus before you get started.

He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care[s] of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. Mat 13:18-23 (From the parable of the sower.) The things we need to give up but won't give up, choke the life of God out of us.

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that [what] thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily [most assuredly] I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly [with difficulty] enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Mat 19:16-26 Happiness with the Lord is worth more than riches. Perhaps the rich should ask God to help them see this, because t hey need help if they are ever going to make it into the kingdom. A person needs to have a soft, loving, giving heart to be in God's kingdom; one reflecting repentance and a change from the old self-centered, proud, hard ways. One which is borne out by actions; though your own attempts may be imperfect, God will make it work as you believe in Jesus; nothing is impossible for God.

Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken [left] all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them, Verily [most assuredly] I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration [at the renewal of all things WU] when the Son of man shall sit in [on] the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath forsaken [left] houses, or brethren [brothers], or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Mat 19:27-29

narrow gate

Closest related principles - Core Interrelations

Enter ye in at the strait [narrow] gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait [narrow] is the gate, and narrow [restricted] is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Mat 7:13-14

Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved [will only a few be saved WU]? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait [narrow] gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Lk 13:23-24 The narrow way is the way that follows Jesus' teachings the way He taught them, not man's interpretation of His teachings, the 'revised, new and improved' one.

miracles help the more hard hearted believe

Closest related principles - Core Interrelations

Then said Jesus unto him, Except [unless] ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. Jh 4:48

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do [them], though ye believe not me, believe the works [miracles WU]: that ye may know, and believe [understand WU], that the Father is in me, and I in him. Jh 10:37-38 Jesus said this to the crowd picking up stones to stone him.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake [because of the miracles WU]. Jh 14:11 Jesus said this to his disciples in the upper room at the last supper.
